IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring JOANPIERCE )
for Her Years of Service to the Mt. Diablo Unified ) RESOLUTION NO. 97/654
School District Board of Education )
WHEREAS, Joan Pierce has served as a Trustee of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District
Board of Education since 198 7; and
WHEREAS, for the past 10 years, Joan has been actively involved in the District's
communities, schools, and the improvement of education; and
WHEREAS, Joan's dedicated leadership has earned her the respect and admiration of all who
know and have worked with her, and
WHEREAS, during her time on the Board, Joan served on the Measure A Committee, the
Campus Safety Task Force, and the Drug-Free Schools Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Joan has also lent her time and expertise to the California School Board
Association; and
WHEREAS, we commend Joan for her compassion for quality education and her hard work to
make the Mt. Diablo Unified School District one of the top school districts in the State of
California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors JOAN
PIERCE for her years of service to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of
Education.
,PASSED AND ADOPTED ON December 9, 1997, by a unanimous vote of the Board
