In the Matter of Honoring WARD PYAW )
for His Years of Service to the Mt. Diablo Unified ) RESOLUTION NO. 971653
School District Board of Education )
WHEREAS, Ward Pynn has served as a Trustee of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District
Board of Education since 1993; and
WHEREAS, for the past four years, Ward has been actively involved in the District's
communities, schools, and the improvement of education; and
WHEREAS, Ward's dedicated leadership has earned him the respect and admiration of all
who know and have worked with him; and
WHEREAS, during his time on the Board, Ward served on the Audit Committee, the
Extracurricular Athletics Committee, and the Campus Safety Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Ward has also lent his time and expertise to the Mt. Diablo Parent Teacher
Association and the California School Board Association Delegate Assembly; and
WHEREAS, we commend Ward for his compassion for quality education and his hard work to
make the Mt. Diablo Unified School District one of the top school districts in the State of
California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors WARD
PYAW for his years of service to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of Education.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON December 9, 1997, by a unanimous vote of the Board
members present.
