HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 12191995 - 95-618 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on December 19, 1995' by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Rogers, Smith, DeSaulnier, Torlakson and Bishop NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Resolution No. 95/ 618 In the Matter of Compensation for Child Development Represented and Management Employees in the Community Services Department Commencing July 1, 1995 WHEREAS the Community Services Director has advised the Office of the County Administrator that on August 3, 1995, Governor Wilson signed AB 903 (Chapter 303) , of the 1995 Budget Act to provide a cost of living increase of two point seven three percent (2 .73%) to eligible Child Development employees effective July 1, 1995. NOW THEREFORE, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as Governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio Governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: A) Effective July 1, 1995, represented classifications in the Child Development Bargaining Unit (CF05-0) will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 27 levels (2 .735%) , with the exception of the following job classifications: Classification Class Code Child Development Nutrition Assistant-Project 99W9 Child Development Nutritionist-Project 99W0 Child Nutrition Worker I-Project 98W1 Child Nutrition Worker II-Project 98G1 B) Effective July 1, 1995, Child Development management classifications and one represented classification as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 27 levels (2 .735%) : Classification Class Code Child Development Division Manager-P 99D1 Child Development Assistant Division Manager-P 99B1 Child Development Center Director - P 99N1 Child Development Site Supervisor - P 99H3 Community Services Accounting Assistant-P 9JV2 C) Effective July 1, 1995, the following job classes, which are partically funded by the Child Development Division, will be adjusted upward on the County Salary Schedule as follows: Classification Class Code Levels Percent Administrative Services Officer APDB 10 1 % Community Services Acctg. Supervisor 9JH1 10 1 % Community Services Dept. Secretary 9JT2 10 1 % Community Services Director 9KA1 10 1 % Community Services Personnel Tech. 9J71 13 1. 3% Community Services Program Analyst 99V8 13 1. 3% See attachment D) Lump Sum Payment. All persons who occupy a permanent position in any of the above listed represented and management classifications or who are authorized as limited term employees on July 1, 1995, shall be retroactively compensated back to July 1, 1995. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation processing back to July 1, 1995, .the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from July 1, 1995, through December 31, 1995, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the Retro Pay Base (RPB) . This base will be multiplied by the designated percent: (o) . The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's February 10, 1996, paycheck where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30. 00 may contact the Human Resources Department and the Auditor's Office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. All provision regarding lump sum payment in lieu of retroac- tive pay shall be applicable to any and all employees who retired during the period July 1, 1995, through December 31, 1995.
