Management Compensation ) Res. No. 94/_512
Res. 92/107 Re Holidays )
In the interest of operational efficiency, it has been the policy of the County to
observe legal holidays on a uniform basis for both represented employees whose
terms and conditions of employment are codified in memoranda of
understanding and unrepresented employees whose terms and conditions of
employment, including holidays, are enumerated in Res. 92/107.
All memoranda of understanding provide that all represented employees will
observe 10 specific holidays and "such other days as the Board of Supervisors
may by Resolution designate as holidays."
In addition to the foregoing language, Res. 92/107 additionally contains in
paragraph 5, Section ;'k. Holidays, Part IV. Leaves and Pay for Time Not Worked,"
the following language; "If amendments to Government Code Section .6700
and/or 6701 become effective to delete any of the above holidays or to add new
holidays, such amendments shall be effective for employees whose
classifications are set forth in Exhibit A" (i.e. all unrepresented and management
employees).
Therefore, in order to unify the Board's authority to designate holidays for all
employees, Res. 92/107 is amended to delete paragraph 5, in Section A of Part
IV noted above.
