HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011993 - 1993-106 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Metter Commending the National Women's Political Caucus For Twenty Years of } Support for Women Candidates To Elected Offices } Resolution No. 9311 a 6 Whereas, for twenty years, the National Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County has worked to increase women's participation in the political process, to increase the number of feminist women in elective and appointed positions, to win equality for women, and to support candidates who support our goals; and Whereas, the National Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County has endorsed over 100 women candidates to local, state or national office and helped elect 50 women to local, state and national offices; and Whereas, The National Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County has lobbied extensively for a state and local commission on the Status of Women, the Equal Eights Amendment(ERA), pay equity and reproductive rights; and Whereas, the National Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County has provided leadership seminars, public forums and campaign workshops, and Whereas, the National Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County has given active support only to those candidates for public or party office, whether mate or female, who support women's issues and employ women in decision making positions in their.administrative and campaign staffs; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby congratulate and commend the rational Women's Political Caucus of Contra Costa County for 20 years of tireless effort on behalf of --candidates'who support women's issues.
