IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Declaring
February 27, 1993, as RICK CRONR' ) RESOLUTION NO. 93/58
DAY in Contra Costa County
William F. "Rick" Cronk,. an outstanding leader in education, youth
development:, and the business community, is being honored by the
Mt Diablo 'Silverado Council Boy Scouts of America at the Annual
Recognition Dinner on February 27, 1993.
In Scouting, Rick Cronk' has been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader
and has served on the Council Executive Board for the past seven
years as a District Chairman, Council Vice President, and Council
President. During his three-year tenure as President, he
coordinated the merger of the Mt. 'Diablo and Silverado Councils and
the funding and building of a new service 'center in Pleasant Hill.
He was recently',elected President of the Boy Scouts of America for
Northern California, serving over 130,000 scouts and their
families. Mr. C'ronk-has also been honored with Scouting's District
Award of Merit and is the holder of the "Silver Beaver," which' is
the highest award a``council can confer on a volunteer.
At the university of California at Berkeley, Mr. Cronk: s an active
fundraiser for the Athletic Department and the Haas Business
School,, sits on the Business School Advisory Board, and teaches in
graduate student classes. As the President of Dreyer's Grand Ice
Cream, he has earned 'a national reputation for aggressively growing
a sound business company while creating'' a climate his employees'
find exciting and challenging.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board' of Supervisors
declares February 27, 1993,, as RICK CRONK DAY in Contra Costa
County in honor of his many years of service to our local
community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON February 23, 1993, by a unanimous vote of the
Board members present:
