Commendimg Chad Jay Mahaffey
an Attaining the Rank of
Eagle Scant
VAHOUUMS,Chad Jay Mahaffey has been involved in scouting activities,
including Cub Scouts,Webelos and Boy Scouts of America since 1985 and is currently a
member of Boy Scout Troop#194 and the Order of the Arrow;and
WHEREAS,Chad,an eighth grader at Park Jr.High School, has earned a
3.85 Grade Point Average,has been on the Honor Roll each year and has served in the
school student council;and
WHEREAS,Chad has participated in soccer,football,Little League Baseball
and has been a member of the Delta Skimmers'swimming team;and
WHEREAS,Chad has demonstrated his leadership qualities by serving his
troop in positions including Assistant Patrol Leader,Patrol Leader,Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader and Senior Patrol Leader, as well as serving on several leadership councils including
JLOW and LDS Scouter Awareness staffs;and
WHEREAS,Chad has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints and has served as Deacons Quorum President;and
WBEREAS,Chad,for his Eagle Project,planned,organized,and supervised
fellow scouts and adults in refinishing and painting all eight sets of bleachers surrounding
the three baseball fields at the Antioch Community Little League Park;
NOW,INEREFORE„BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA 00UNTY1,C AL EFORNIA,does hereby
congratulate and commend Chad Jay Mahaffey on his attainment of the rank'of Eagle Scout
and commend him for his involvement in his community.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on the 16th day
of June, 1992.
