IN TBE MATTER of RESOLtTTION NO 9 2 14 01
Commending and congratulating
Salvatore P.Cardinale on his
years of service to and his
retirement from the Pittsburg
Unified School District
WIMREM,Salvatore P.Cardinale is a life-long resident of Contra Costa County,born,
raised and;.employed in the City of Pittsburg;and
W E:REAS,Mr.Cardinale earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing
at the University of San Francisco and then ft Bred his education with. a Masters in
Administration in Educational Administration at San Francisco State University, thereby
strengthening his commitment to teaching and'admini tration of school programs;and
WFIE.RFAS, Mr. Cardinale's educational career with the Pittsburg Unified
Schaal District began in 1958 and has encompassed positions from elementary classroom
teacher,vice-principal and principal through deputy superintendent to District
Superintendent;and
WHEREAS,some of his achievements during that period include: ;,rewriting
junior and senior high school curriculum manuals with course objectives; developing a new
grade reporting system for IL-6;participating in the design and monitoring the construction of
new schools;developing management inservice programs and installing an application retrieval
system
NOW, TFERREFORE, BE I`1' RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County
Board of Supervisors does commend and congratulate Salvatore P.Cardinale on his years of°
excellent service and productive dedication to the Pittsburg Unified School District,and on his
retirement;,after 34 years,including 10 years as Superintendent.
