BE IT RESOLVED that the Burd of Supervisors of Contra Costa County APPROVES
the side letter (copy attached and included as part of,this document), jointly signed
by Harry D. Cisterman, Director of Personnel, and Henry Clarke, General Manager,
Centra Costa County Employees' Association, Local No. 1 regarding economic terms
and conditions for 1991-1993 for those classifications represented by the Engineering
Unit.

Dear Mr. Clarke:
Pursuant to our agreement reached on May 11,,,1992,, between County and'Local One
representatives regarding issues specific to the Engineering Unit, this side letter
has been prepared This document summarizes the wage adjustments and other
economic improvements for classifications in the Engineering Unit for the period
October 1, 1991 through;September 30, 1993. Execution of this side letter and its
adaption'by the Board will authorize salary adjustments pending amendment of the
Memorandum of understanding between the County and Local Eine.
The County and Local No. 1 have agreed to the following:
Term: 10/1/91 through '9/30/93
Lump Sum Payment: 3% from October 1, 1991 through April 30, 1992
Wage Adjustment: 30 levels effective 5/1/92 and 30 levels effective 10/1192
Special Equity Adjustments: Traffic Safety Investigator to receive 1%lump sum from
1/1/92 to 4/30/92; '10 levels effective 5/1/92 and 10 levels effective 1/1/93.
RWA Differential 5% differential for Real Property Agents' for possessing:and
maintaining a valid senior member designation''issued by the International Right of
Way Association (IR.WA) effective January 1, 1992.
Elimination of VDT Differential: The differential will be eliminated:;and in return,
the County will add. $50 to the;,salary ranges for Real Property Technical Assistant
and Senior Real Property Technical Assistant, effective May 1, 1992.
Health & Welfare: Benefits for employees in this unit are the same as these shown
In Section 17 of the 1991-1993 MOU between the County and Local One and in the
January 28, 1992 settlement agreement 'between the County and the Health Care
Coalition.
Transfer Policy: The County and Local One have reached agreement concerning the
appointment of non...-supervisory Real Property Agents in the Public Works
Department and the General Service Department and have confirmed details of this
agreement in a March 24, 1992 letter signed by the parties.

acceptance in the space provided below.
