HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011992 - 1992-312 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS DF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commending Chief Ed Lacas Resolution No.: 92/312 On the mon of His,Retirement: ) From Thirty-Three'Years of Service to) The Moraga Fire Potion District ) Arid!Contra�Coudty � WHEREAS Ed Lues retired an March 31:, 1992, as Chief of the Moraga Fire Protection'District after thirty for ee years of responsive and capable service to the citizens of Moraga and Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS Ed Lucas began his career with the Moraga community in 1959 as one of seven firefighters, advanced to captain in 1965, was pr+omated to assistant chief in '1972, and was appointed chief of the Moraga Fire Department in 1972; anti WHEREAS Ed Lukas wed the growth and organizational emphasis of the Moraga Fire' Protection District's operations as it evolved from a rural fire department to a sophisticated, suburban department with paramedics and a high level of fire prevention and safety education and instruction; and WHEREAS Ed Lucas built the Moraga Fire Department's staff into a tightly 'knit, highly professional team, with widespread community support; and AREAS Ed'Lucas brought great personal integrity to his dealings with all, from the Bowl of Supervisgrs, to the citizens of the Town. NOW 7 EREFORE BE Tf RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa,' California, hereby COMMENDS Ed Lues on the occasion of his retirement from the Moraga Fire Protection District, CONGRATULATES Ed Lucas for his key role in building a'successful partnership between the citizens of Moraga and their fire department; and EXTENDS to Ed Lucas its best wishes for a pleasant retirement full of grandchildren and travel plans,and time to enjoy therm a. PASSED and ADOPTED this twelfth day of May, 1992, by unanimous vote of the Board members present.
