Martinez Manufacturing Complex has been awarded Shell's best Location Award for the second consecutive' year and Shell's Environmental Excellence Award for the third consecutive year: and MSAs Shell Oil Company's Martinez Manufacturing Complex is the oldest and continuously operating oil refinery in the United States providing high quality, competitive petroleum products to its Went Coast customers; and VMRZM Shell Oil Ccepany's Martinez Manufacturing Complex is recognized to be one of the safest refineries in the united hates having won numerous National Safety Council and national Refiner's Association Awards for its exemplary safety record; and HEREAS Shell Oil Company has shown .continuous commitment to improve' its environmental performance and promote the environmental quality of this area/city; and WHEREAS, Shell Oil Company has provided continuous, uninterrupted employment to its employees and has been a strong and viable economic farce in the community/county; and WHEREAS Shell Oil Company has dedicated itself to maintaining an open dialogue with its neighbors with regard to any health, safety and environmental concerns about its operations, ' IRM TSSREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Hoard of Supervisors Of Contra Costa 'County hereby CONGRATULATES Shell 'Oil Coimpany on its Best Location Award and Environmental Excellence Award. PASSED and adopted this 7th day of April, 1992, by unanimous vote sof the Hoard members present.
