WURSCHMIDT+) RESOLUTION NO. 92/ 148 Day inContra Costa County ) WHEREAS, Leo Wurschmidt was born in Chico, California and resides with his wife,' Carol, .and their three children, Clifford, Nicholas and Alicia in "Clayton, ' Contra Costa County, California; and WHEREAS, since January 1986, Leo has been the Director of the federal Department' of 'veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office in San Francisco, and has the responsibility of supervising; the administration of diverse benefit and entitlement programs in the amount of S50 million per month to veterans, their dependents and survivors of Northern California; and WHEREAS, Leo has recently accepted the position of Director of the VA Regional Office in Winston-Salem North Carolina; and; WHEREAS, .Leo has maintained a ''dist'inguished career with the VA, has upheld the highest standards of public service to the veteran community, has demonstrated exceptional support and leadership to the dedicated 'VA employees under his command, and has maintained positive relationships with the public, veteran service organizations and county' veteran service officers throughout California; and WHEREAS, during his career, Leo has held various positions of responsibility in all three administrations of the VA: the veterans Benefits Administration, the National Cemetery system and the Veterans Health Administration; and WHEREAS, Leo has been President and: member of the Board of Directors of the Clayton Valley Little' League, and has also been active in civic and youth activities such as the local Boy Scout Troop, Cub Scout Pack and Homeowner's Association; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY hereby proclaims March 20, 1992 as LEO C. WURSCHMIDT day in Contra Costa County in honor of Leo's exemplary service and commitment to 'Veterans` Affairs and, further, wishes him continued success, good health and prosperity In his new assignment.
