HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011992 - 1992-115 Cr/ IN THE BOARD QF SUPEMSORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Recognizing the)` Achievements of the California ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/115 State Military Reserve on the Occasion. of ''Its 51st: Anniversary) WHEREAS, the California State Military Reserve was established by an act of the California State Legislature in December of 1940; and WHEREAS, the California State Military Reserve serves as the reserve component of the California National Guard, and stands ready to take up the Guard's state duties in the event of a full federal mobilization of the Guard; and WHEREAS, during World War II the California State Military Reserve provided crucial protection for strategic facil- ities in the state,' and has provided manpower and assistance in times of natural disasters and emergencies in California; and WHEREAS, the California State Military Reserve has made Contra Costa County a better and safer place to live by their dedicated service to the community; and WHFS, the men and women of the California State Military Reserve are patriotic volunteers who are > committed to helping their fellow citizens; and WHEREAS, the members of the California State Military' Reserve come from all walks of life and represent the board spectrum of California's ethnic and cultural diversity; NOW T EFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Contra Costa County recognizes the achievements of the California' State Military' Reserve, expresses its appreciation for the dedication to duty ' displayed by the members of the California State Military Re- serve, and congratulates the California State Military Reserve on its 51st anniversary. PASSED on March 3`, 1992 by unanimous vote of the Beard members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing; is a true and correct copy of an action entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
