Awareness Month )
WHEREAS, March, 1991 has been nationally declared
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month; and
WHEREAS, the month of March, 1991, will be the focus of
Developmental Disabilities Awareness events in Contra Costa
County; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the contributions made by
agencies serving Contra Costa County citizens with developmental
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, these programs provide opportunities for
individual development, independence, involvement and integration
within our communities; and
WHEREAS, the interpersonal, social and cultural contri-
butions of citizens with developmental disabilities create a
society which focuses on ability, not disability.
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Contra Costa County Board of
Supervisors do hereby proclaim March, 1991, as Contra Costa County
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in tribute to our
citizens with developmental disabilities and the agencies which
serve them and the contributions they make to the future of our
County and nation.
PASSED on February 26, 1991 by unanimous vote of the
Board members present.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and
correct copy of an action entered on the minutes of said Board of
Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
