Now, after nine years of faithful service to the citizens of Concord, Ron has retired from the Council. Ron has been involved with numerous community organizations, but perhaps his greatest achievement was during his term as Mayor. He served as chairman of the Contra Costa Mayor ' s Conference and founded TRANSPAC. TRANSPAC was the model for the creation of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, which now oversees the transportation projects funded by the 1/2 cent sales tax that was passed by voters in 1988. Ron was elected the first chair. Ron is truly dedicated to the citizens of Concord. He is known for being outspoken, aggressive, and committed to his beliefs. Ron will never back down from something he feels is morally, socially, and politically correct, and he has the ability to integrate compassion and purpose into his causes. He is not afraid to make the tough decisions and has come up against some strong opposition, but he only does what he believes to be in the best interest of the people. Ron is a true man of principle and integrity--the voice of this outstanding public servant will be sincerely missed on the Concord City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares December 11, 1991 as RON MULLIN DAY in Contra Costa County and extends our best wishes to Ron for much success and fulfillment with his law practice, teaching endeavors, and future public service.
