HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 11081988 - 88-710 s5 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Supporting the ) Preservation and Rehabilitation ) Resolution No. 88/710 of the Port Costa School ) WHEREAS, the Port Costa School is the only public building in Port Costa; and WHEREAS, the Port Costa School is the only public building within the Carquinez Shoreline Regional Park project area; and WHEREAS, the Port Costa Conservation Society has been concerned with the preservation of the Port Costa School; and WHEREAS, in an effort to preserve the Port Costa School the Port Costa Conservation Society worked to have the school placed on the National Register of Historic Places; and WHEREAS, the Port Costa Conservation Society has agreed to purchase the Port Costa School pursuant to Section 39381 of the State Education Code which mandates that the school shall be used and maintained for public benefit as an historical resource and that the site shall otherwise be available for public access and use; and WHEREAS, the Port Costa Conservation Society is applying for rehabilitation funds for the Port Costa School from the History and Archeology Grant Program of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California supports the Port Costa Conservation Society in its efforts to preserve and rehabilitate the Port Costa School. Passed and adopted on November 8, 1988, by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
