Contra Costa County is in an extremely precarious situation due to the
imminent closure of the Acme Landfill, and the lack of any adequate

November 8, the voters of this County will cast their ballots on two
initiative measures and two advisory measures and thereby give the Board
their views on how the County should go about resolving this crisis. For
this reason, this Board desires at the earliest opportunity to review and
discuss the implications of the votes on the landfill measures, and to
take any and all necessary steps to implement the voters' directions to
assure this County's residents will be provided with adequate new landfill
facilities and transfer station capacity.
Therefore, the Board hereby calls a special meeting of the Board of
Supervisors on:
Thursday, November 10, 1988
Board Chambers, 651 Pine
Street, Martinez, California.
