The Board this date adopted Resolution 87/58 requesting
two additional Superior Court judicial positions for Contra Costa
County.
During the discussion of the additional judicial
positions Board members commented on the problems associated with
the funding of these two positions. They noted the need to
increase revenues and to seriously consider the consolidation of
the Marshal-Sheriff functions as a cost-saving measure.
Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the County
Administrator is REQUESTED to work with the County Judicial staff
to develop a program to fund the new positions through the
Marshal-Sheriff consolidation and increased fine revenues.
