HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 02041986 - 86-39 Y.4 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Congratulating ) Neil Pennington, Retiring Vice ) Resolution No. 86/39 President, C & H Sugar ) WHEREAS Neil L. Pennington, Vice President - Refinery Operations, retired on February 1, 1986 after 32 years of service with C & H; and WHEREAS he started with the Company as a Chemist in the Technical Department on February 15, 1954; and WHEREAS Neil worked his way up to Vice President and Refinery Manager in August 1970, then his title was changed to Vice President - Refinery Operations in March 1973, the position he held at the time of his early retirement; and WHEREAS professionally, he has served as a member of several national and international sugar organizations and at present serves as Vice President with Sugar Processing Research, Inc. ; and WHEREAS the community of Crockett and its citizens have benefited from his efforts in their behalf. The community being deeded an olympic size swimming pool and adjoining park, tennis courts and community auditorium. And largely through his cooperation, the Crockett Historical Society was formed and received the old Southern Pacific Depot for a museum; and WHEREAS Neil Pennington has performed his job with diligence, creativity, and excellence; and WHEREAS Neil Pennington and his wife, Frances, plan to dig a few divots around the local golf courses now that he' s retired; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, hereby CONGRATULATES Neil Pennington upon his retirement and EXTENDS to Neil and Frances Pennington its best wishes for continued good health, happiness, and prosperity in their retirement years. PASSED and ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board on the fourth day of February 1986. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
