WHEREAS the County Administrator has recommended
clarification of the County policy regarding provision of
County-owned automobiles for use by Members of the Board of
Supervisors; and
WHEREAS Resolution 84/424 establishes provisions for payment
of an executive automobile allowance and mileage to Department
heads and elected officials for maintenance of a private
automobile for County business;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED
that:
1. Effective January 1, 1987 individual Members of the
Board of Supervisors may, as an alternative to the
existing executive automobile allowance, arrange
through the Director of General Services for use of a
County-owned, maintained and insured automobile for
County business; and
2 . A Board Member selecting this plan in lieu of the
executive automobile allowance program may not also
receive direct reimbursement under that program.
