Cisterman, Director of Personnel Contra Costa DATE : November 17, 1986 C ^ SUBJECT: Salary & Benefit Compensation for Employees in the Management Classifications of Operating Room Supervisor, Supervising Clinic Nurse & Supervising Nurse SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S ) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RESOLUTION NO. 86/690 The Contra Costa County Board of supervisors resolves: The Board of Supervisors having been advised on Tuesday, November 18, 1986 of the results of a decertification election amongst employees in the classifications of Operating Room Supervisor, Supervising Clinic Nurse and Supervising Nurse, the following salary and benefit program is hereby enacted in accordance with the dates indicated below and employees in the above cited classifications are designated "management employees" effec- tive December 1, 1986. 1. Management Benefits, General Benefits and Other Terms & Conditions of Employment Effective December 1, 1986 employees in the above classifications are eligible to receive Management Benefits, General Benefits and Other Terms and Conditions of Employment available to. other mana- gement employees as detailed in Board Resolution 84/424. 3. Health Plan Coverage Effective December 1, 1986 employees in the above classifications are eligible for health plan coverage in accordance with rates and coverages available for "Management and Unrepresented Employees" . 4. Overtime In recognition of the nature of work performed by employees in the above classifications inclusive of the unpredictability of patient census and patient care required at any point in time, employees of the Health Services Department shall continue to be eligible to receive overtime pay or compensatory time off for designated over- time worked in accordance with established Health Services Department Policy. 5. Employees in the above classifications who in the Health Services Department who work an evening shift shall receive a shift dif- ferential of 12% of base pay. Employees working a night shift shall receive a differential of 15% of base pay. Such differen- tial shall be paid to employees working on holidays or when on vacation or sick leave, provided the employee regularly works a shift which qualifies for a differential . 6. Holidays Employees in the above classifications in the Health Services Department who are assigned to positions which provide round-the- clock coverage will observe Admissions Day, Columbus Day and Lincoln' s Day in lieu of accruing two (2) hours of personal holi- day credit per month. Employees whose shifts include Saturday or Sunday shall observe holidays on the day on which the holiday falls, regardless if it is a Saturday or Sunday. O 7. Holiday Comp Time Employees in the above classifications in the Health Services Department who are excluded from overtime exemption will have the option of paid overtime or compensatory time off for holidays worked. Election may be made on a quarterly basis. Compensatory time accruing from holidays worked may not exceed 288 hours which shall be separate from other compensatory time earned. cc: Auditor-Controller Health Services Probation County Administrator Personnel (3) i
