HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011981 - 1981-464 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of: Emergency Medical Services. RESOLUTION NO. 81/46 4 WHEREAS the California Lepi.slature having, enacted Division 2.5 of the health and Safety Code aansistinp ,of Sections 1797 throuph 1799. 108 as Chapter 1260 Statutes of. 1980; and. WHEREAS this legislation provides in Sections 1797.208 and 1797.210 for the certification of emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and mobile intensive care nurses; and WHEREAS Section 1797.212 of the Health and Safety Code permits the County to establish a schedule of fees for certification of such personnel in an amount sufficient to cover the reasonable cost of administering the certification projects, and WHEREAS the Health Services Director has recommended that a fee schedule be established effective June 1 , 1981 consisting of certification and recertification fees as follows: Certification Recertification EMT-I ' s $ 15.00 $ 10.00 Paramedics $ 25.00 $ 10.00 MICN's $ 15.00 $ 10.00; and WHEREAS Section 1797.200 of the Health and Safety Code permits the County to develop an emergency medical services program and requires that in each county developing such a program a local emergency medical service agency shall be designated to carry out the provisions of Division 2.5; THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that the Health Services Depart- ment is hereby designated as the Emergency Medical Services Agency pursuant to Section 1797.200 of the Health and Safety Code. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fee schedule noted above as recommended by the Health Services Director is established effective June 1 , 1981 pursuant to Section 1797.212 of the Health and Safety Code. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the certifications made by the Health Services Director pursuant to Section 1797.210 shall be for the period of time designated by the Health Services Director but shall be effective for not less than one year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fees collected pursuant to this Resolution shall be deposited in the General Fund of the County and that a report shall be made to the Board of Supervisors annually by the County Administrator summarizing the cost of the Emergency Medical Services Program and the fees collected under this Resolution and making recommendations for any adjustments in said fee schedule, such report to be made as part of the County Administrator's presentation of the Budget Message.
