HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011981 - 1981-1416 BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Proposed } RESOLUTION NO . 81/1416 Abatement of the Property of ) Sam & Carole Orr ) WHEREAS it appears from the records of this Board that the Contra Costa County Building Inspector , acting in accordance with the Uniform Building Code 1979 Edition Sec . 203 ; Uniform Housing Code , 1979 Edition , Sec . 1001 ; and Title 25 , Chapter 1 , Subchapter 1 , Sec . 114 et seq . of the California Administrative Code , having determined that the building ( s ) and or improvement (s ) located at 316 Parker Ave . , Rodeo , CA (Kronick Hotel ) are substandard and is therefore a public nuisance ; and said Build- ing Inspector having posted said property with Notice of Substandard Building and having notified the owner of said property that it is substandard in the manner provided by law as appears more par- ticularly from the declaration of the Building Inspector on file herein ; and WHEREAS the said buildings and improvements have not been repaired or removed as required by said Notice of Substandard Buildings and improvements , and WHEREAS said Building Inspector thereafter posted said property with Notice to Abate Nuisance , which notice specified the time and place of the hearing before this Board for the owners of said property to show cause why the buildings and improvements thereon should not be condemned as a public nuisance , and the Build- ing Inspector having notified the owners of said property of said hearing in the manner provided by law ; and WHEREAS the matter having come on for hearing by this Board on Tuesday , December 8 , 198. 1 _, at 10 : 30 A .M . as provided in the notice hereinabove mentioned ; and WHEREAS the Board having considered the evidence presented by said Building Inspector and all other interested parties , the following appears and this Board now finds that said building (s ) and/or improvement (s ) ( is ) (are ) sub--standard as defined in Sec- tion 1001 of the Uniform Housing Code , 1979 Edition . BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that said building is sub- standard and is declared to be a public nuisance and the owners are hereby ordered to abate said nuisance by immediately clearing out of the structure all trash and debris and to immediately and adequately secure the structure against unlawful entry . BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that if the structure has not been secured as ordered by this Board and if the trash and debris has not been removed within 14 days from the date of this resolution the Board of Supervisors hereby order the building and improvements to be razed and removed . The nuisance is to be abated by the Building Inspec- tor of the County in accordance with the provisions of Title 25 , Chapter 1 ; Sub--chapter 1 of the California Administrative Code and the expense thereof may be made a lien upon the land upon which said building and improvements are located .
