HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011981 - 1981-1168 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Application to ) LAFCO for Annexation to County ) RESOLUTION NO. 81/1158 Service Area R-8 ) ) WHEREAS County Service Area R-8 (CSA R-8) was formed in 1974 to provide recreation and park service for the community of Walnut Creek as a cooperative effort of the City of Walnut Creek and the County; and WHEREAS a substantial majority of the owners of property proposed to be affected by this resolution requested that such property be excluded from a recent annexation to the City of Lafayette for the reason that the property was more closely associated with the community of Walnut Creek; and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Lafayette concurred with the request of the subject property owners and recommended that the property be transferred from the Lafayette sphere of influence to that<., of Walnut Creek; and WHEREAS it is deemed desirable to maintain CSA R-8 boundaries consistent with the Walnut Creek sphere of influence; and WHEREAS the Local Agency Formation Commission of Contra Costa County has recommended that this Board of Supervisors make applica- tion for annexation of the subject land to County Service Area R-8; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that: 1. Application is hereby made to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Contra Costa County for a change of organization, pursuant to the District Reorganization Act of 1965. 2. The nature of the proposed change of organization is annexation of legally uninhabited territory to CSA R-8 . 3. Boundaries of affected territory are as set forth in the attached description marked Exhibit "A" and as shown in the attached map marked Exhibit "B. " 4 . The reason for the proposal is to more clearly establish the community being served by CSA R-8. 5 . It is hereby requested that the Local Agency Formation Commission of Contra Costa County initiate proceedings for the subject annexation proposal. R-8, Westerly, 1260.00 feet, more or less, to the general eastern line of El Curtola Boulevard overcrossing; thence Northerly and Easterly, 260.00 feet, more or less, to the southerly line of Camino Diablo, said point being on the boundary line of the City of Lafayette; thence following said city boundary line, North 90 12' 24" East, 61 .50 feet, to the northerly line of Camino Diablo; thence Westerly, along said northerly line, 39.37 feet, thence following the general easterly and northerly line of a road right of way, in. a Northerly and Westerly direction 340.49 feet, to a point on the centerline of Dunsyre Drive, said point being the western corner of the parcel of land described in the deed from the State of California, to Melvin E.
