In the Matter of Application }
to LAFCO for Annexation to } RESOLUTION NO. 81/1167
County Service Area R-8 }
WHEREAS the 10. 6 acre, more or less, parcel of land proposed
to be affected by this resolution has been acquired by the County
for purposes of providing recreation and park service to the
constituency of County Service Area R-8; and
WHEREAS the subject parcel of land is not within the present
boundaries of County Service Area R-8; and
WHEREAS the Local Agency Formation Commission of Contra Costa
County has recommended that this Board of Supervisors make applica-
tion for annexation of the subject land parcel to County Service
Area R-8;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that:
1. Application is hereby made to the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Contra Costa County for a change of organization,
pursuant to the District Reorganization Act of 1965.
2. The nature of the proposed change of organization is,
annexationof legally uninhabited territory to County Service
Area R-8 (CSA R-8) . The territory proposed to be annexed consists
of land owned by the County on behalf of CSA R-8 that is not
within the present boundaries of CSA R-8 .
3. Boundaries of affected territory are as set forth in the
attached description marked Exhibit "A" and as shown in the attached
map marked Exhibit "B. "
4. The reasons for the proposal are to extend jurisdiction
of CSA R-8 to lands where the service area will be providing service
and to clarify the sphere of influence of agencies serving the
community of Walnut Creek.
5. It is hereby requested that the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Contra Costa. County initiate proceedings for the
subject annexation proposal.

Portion of the Rancho Canada del Hambre, Southern Part, being the tract
of land shown on the Record of Survey Map filed February 3, 1975, Book 58 of
Licensed Surveyors Maps, Page 21 , Contra Costa County Records, described as
follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 47, of Subdivison 2081
(Springbrook Unit No. 2) , filed December 29, 1954, in Book 56 of Maps, at
Page 46, said point being on the boundary line of the City of Lafayette;
thence leaving said city boundary, South 730 50' East, 108.14 feet; along
the arc of a curve to the left with a radius of 215 feet, an arc distance of
48.78 feet; South 860 50' East, 212.87 feet; South 10 37' 06" West, 562.04
feet, South 890 39' 09" Fest, 885.16 feet, to a point on the boundary line
of the City of Lafayette; thence following along said city boundary, North
80 20' 13" West, 378.54 feet; North 630 39' 17" East, 290.00 feet; North
820 29' 30" East, 90.33 feet; South 720 57' 54" East, 207.00 feet North
170 02' 06" East, 150.00 feet, and North l0 35' 56" East, 25.94 feet, to the
point of beginning.
