CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of the }
1981 County Charity } RESOLUTION NO. 81/1100
Drive }
WHEREAS the United Way of the Bay Area and the Combined
Health Agencies Drive are about to begin their 1981 campaigns for
funds; and
WHEREAS the campaigns will , if successfully conducted, provide
financing for a variety of community organizations; and
WHEREAS these organizations serve commendable purposes such
as the prevention of illness, indigency, and delinquency; and
WHEREAS employees of Contra Costa County and other govern-
mental entities within the County have been requested to partici-
pate actively in the 1981 campaigns of the United Way of the Bay
Area and the Combined Health Agencies Drive and contribute to the
funds which are used to financially support member organizations;
and
WHEREAS this Board of Supervisors endorses a single charity
drive among County employees to allow them the opportunity to
donate to either or both of these fundraising organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that William A.
O'Malley, County District Attorney, is designated as Chairman for
the 1981 Charity Drive campaign among County employees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Tom Powers, Chairman, Board of
Supervisors, is designated to serve as Honorary Chairperson for
said campaign;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following County employees
are appointed to serve as the Charity Drive Chairmen within their
respective departments:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all public employees in Contra
Costa County are urged to contribute within their means to the
County Charity Drive.
PASSED AND ADOPED on September 22, 1981 , by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Fanden, McPeak, Torlakson, Powers.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Supervisor Schroder.
