HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011969 - 96-405 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Adjusting Employee Compensation for } RESOLUTION NUMBER 69/405 the 1969-1970 Fiscal Year. } WHEREAS this Board on June 23, 1969 held a public hearing on the matter of employee compensation for the 1969-1970 fiscal year and at the close thereof, indicated that its decision would be announced this day; and WHEREAS Supervisor E. A. Linscheid, on behalf of the Administration and Finance Committee and the Board, submitted a report recommending that employee compensation be adjusted effective July 1, 1969 as recommended in the June 17, 1969 report of the County Administrator, with the following changes and additions : 1. For all classes at or below Range 24 (§15-$505) advance the date for the 2 adjustment proposed for January 1, 1970 to July 1, 1969; 2. For 011ie Smith, Associate Civil Engineer, and Willard Swain, Consultant for the Contra Costa. County Water Aency, provide additional compensation of 1100 per month and $50 per month respectively, 3. For the position of County Administrator provide an adustment of 7K from $2,756 per month to 12,963 per month; 4- For project inspectors employed by the county on a contract basis provide an adjustment of 5% and WHEREAS the report of the Administration and Finance Committee also recommends the following: 1. Implementation of the provisions of Assembly Bill 2052 pertaining to the county retirement system., effective July 1, 1969; 2. Endorsement of the concept of a career educa- tional incentive pay program for the fire services ; 3. Provision of a shift differential for those fire district employees whose regularly assigned work schedule averages 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week; RESOLUTION NUMBER 69/405 4• Provision of a hazardous duty differential for those medical services employees assigned to the emergency section of the admitting service; and WHEREAS the report of the Administration and Finance Committee also recommends that a review of the salaries of elected officials be made on January 1, 1970 so that compensation for the term beginning January I, 1971 may be fixed prior to the filing date for the new term; and WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors has thoroughly considered the matter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that the recom- mendations of the Administration and Finance Committee are APPROVED; and BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that employee compen- sation is adjusted in accordance with the recommendations of the County Administrator as set forth in Schedule I, Civil Service Personnel,, and Schedule II, Exempt Personnel, of his report dated June 17, 1969 (as corrected.) , except for classifications set forth herein which are adjusted as follows : Class July 1, 1969 Schedule I Clerk 23 (405-493) Community Aide Trainee 23 (405-493) Deputy Clerk 1 25 (4�5-517) Duplicating Services Clerk 26 (436-534) Election Clerk 23 (405-493 ) Home Health Aide 23 (405-493) Institution Helper 26 (436-534) Library Clerk 23 (445-493) Library Student Assistant 16 (341. 41.5) Microfilm Clerk 25 (425-517) Resident in Hospital Administration 24 (415-.545) Special. Qualifications Worker 22 (395-481) Student Worker 20 (376-458) Typist Clerk 25 (425-51.7) Typist Clerk I 25 (425-517) Schedule II New Careers Trainee 23 (405-403) BE IT BY THE BOARD ALSO RESOLVED that effective July 1, 1969 011ie Smith, Associate Civil Engineer, Sewage {,haste and Water Division of the County Public Works Department, shall be compensated by an additional amount of $100 per month beyond that provided for the classification of Associate Civil Engineer; and that Willard Swain, Consultant for the Contra Costa County Water Agency, be compensated by an additional amount of $54 per month beyond, that provided for in agreement with him.; and RESOLUTION NUMBER 69,/405 '­­­........................................................................................................................................................................ .................................................................................................... BE IT FURTHER RESOLIM that compensation for the position of County Administrator is fixed at $2,963 per month effective July 1. 1969; and BE IT FDRTHER RESOLVED that the project inspectors employed by the county on a contract basis shall be compensated on an hourly basis effective July l., 1969, as follows : J. M. Nelson - $8.51 per hour Charles Bradshaw - $7.93 per hour BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a review of the salaries of elected officials shall be made on January 1, 1970; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following ordinances effective August 1, 1969 are ADOPTED, and the Clerk of the Board is directed to publish a copy of each ordinance for the time and in the manner required by law in the CONTRA COSTA TIMES, a news- paper of general circulation printed and published in the County of Contra Costa: No. 69=�J, which amends Ordinance No. 68-66 to make provision for a shift differential for those certain fire district employees whose regular assigned work schedule averages 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week; and No. 69-58, which amends Ordinance Code Section 2441(f) to make provision for a differential for medical services employees assigned to the Admitting Office Emergency Room. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of June, 1969, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES : None. ABSENT: None .
