HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011969 - 69-704 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commending Members of the Jail Study RESOLUTION NUMBER 69/704 Committee. WHEREAS the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on December 3, 1968 appointed a Jail. Study Committee of 100 citizens to make a study of and disseminate information on the need for a new county Jail; and WHEREAS said Committee conducted such a study over a six- month period and on June 24, 1969 submitted its findings and recom- mendations to the Board; and WHEREAS said findings confirmed the need for construction of a new and enlarged county Jail and pay--as-you-go financing of the new facility was recommended; and WHEREAS this Board on August 5, 1969 endorsed the findings and recommendations of said Committee and included in the county budget for fiscal year 1969.1970 funds for preparation of Jail plans and specifications; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board recognizes and extends to the members of the Jail Study Committee its apprecia- tion for the public services performed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board offers special commendation to General Chairman Bill D. Horne and Subcommittee Chairmen Palmer Watson, Donald Anderson, Tete Lopez and Charles Lewis; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board respectfully requests the continued existence of the Jail Study Committee to meet at the call of the Committee chairman, and that copies of this resolution be presented to all committee members . PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of October, 1969, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Vias, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES: None. ABSENT: None .
