HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011969 - 69-677 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF € ONTR:A COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the .Matter of Proclaiming } October 27, 1969 as NAVY DAY. } RESOLUTION NO. 69/677 } WHEREAS it is of vital interest to all citizens of the United States of America that we possess a sound national defense and WHEREAS it is well known that our strong Navy and Marine Carps are making great contributions to the security of our Nation and free sten everywhere; and WHEREAS the mobile forces of the Navy manned by highly trained and dedicated personnel, provide a deterrent force virtually free from surprise attack, and WHEREAS since 1922, October 27th has been celebrated nationally and locally as 'NAVY TRAY -- a day on which it is only fitting and proper that the citizens of this great Nation give well deserved: honer and recognition to achievements of our mighty_ Navy and particularly to its heroic men and women -- living and dead -- all over the world, for their patriotism, loyalty, efficiency, and devotion to duty; NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES MORIARTY, Chairman, Board of Supervisors of Centra Costa County, do hereby proclaim Monday, October 27, 1969 as NAVY DAY and call, upon all citizens of Contra Costa County to take part in appropriate observance of this day through the many channels open to them. PASSER AND ADOPTED this lith day of October, 1969, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES: None .
