HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011969 - 69-588 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Nutter of Opposing Proposed actions on the ) Imposition of Federal Taxes ) RESOLUTION NO. 69/588 on income from State and Local Tax Exempt Bonds. } WHEREAS this Board on May 13, 1969 adopted Resolution No. 69/322, on July 8, 1969 adopted Resolution No. 69/ 6, and on August 19, 1969 adopted Resolution No. 69/547 urging that no action be taken by the Congress of the United. States which would result in the imposition of federal taxes on the income from municipal bands which are now tax exempt; and WHEREAS the financial requirements of state and local governments has become Increasingly critical and there is now an every more compelling need for they sale of state and local tax exempt bands a and AREAS legislation affecting the tax exempt status of municipal securities has been adopted by the House of Representatives In its tax reform bill (H.R. 13270)3 NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that United States Senator George Murphy and United States Senator Alan Cranston are URGED to work diligently in apposition to proposed actions on the imposition of federal taxes on income from state and local tax exempt bonds. PASSED and ADOPTED this 10th day of September, 1969 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenner, A. M. Dias, Edmund A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES: None. ABSENT: Supervisor T. J. Coll. RESOLUTION No. 69/588
