RESOLUTION ORDERING COUNTY 'SERVICE AREA F-2
REORGANIZATION TO DISSOLVE COUNTY SERVICE
AREA F-2 AND CONCURRENTLY FORM THE >TASSAJARA
PIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT SUBJECT TO THE
CONFIRMATION OF THE VOTERS
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
On June 17, 1969,; this Beard adopted Resolution< No. 69/386
initiating proceedings for the reorganization by dissolution of
County Service Area F-2 and concurrent formation of the Tassajara
Fire Protection District . The reorganization had been proposed
by this Board. A resolution of application for the proposed
reorganization was filed by the Board of Supervisors with the
Executive >Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission on
May 14, 1969. The reason for the proposed reorganization is as
set forth in the application for reorganization and is that this
Board feels that the residents of the proposed Tassajara Fire
Protection District should control their awn fire protection
affairs.
On June 4, 196q, the Local Agency Formation Commission approved
the application subject to the fallowing terms and conditions ;
(a) The Tassajara Fire Protection District shall be
the successor of the dissolvedCounty Service Area
F'-2.
(b) The Tassajara Fire Protection District shall succeed
to all of the;, assets (including real property) and
liabilities of the dissolved County Service Area F-2'.
(c) The Board of Supervisors shall be the governing body
of the fire di'stri'ct, with five commissioners to be
appointed :pursuant' to Health and Safety Code,
Section 13884,
{d) The effective, date of the fire district ' formation '
shall be prior to January 1, 1970, and the effective
date of the service area dissolution shall be
June 30, 1970.
The Local Agency Formation' Commission assigned the proposal
designation as "Tassajara Fire Reorganization" . The exterior

boundaries of the territory composing County Service Area F-2
and of the territory composingthe proposed Tassajara Fire Pro-
tection District are the same, and said boundaries are as
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by reference incor-
porated herein. The subject area is located entirely within
Contra Costa County.
The Board's Resolution No. 69/386 .fixed 10 a.m. on; Tuesday,
July 29, 1969, in the Chambers of the Board of Supervisors,
Administration Building, Martinez, California,' as the time and
place for a public hearing on the proposed reorganization. Notice
of said hearing was duly given by (1) publication in the "Valley
Pioneer", (2) posting on the Board's Bulletin Board, and (3)
mailing notice to each affected district, each person who had
filed' a request for special notice with the County Clerk, and the
chief' petitioners if any. This Berard, at the time and 'place set
for said 'hearing, had the determination of the Local Agency
Formation Commission read aloud and then called for evidence or
protests as provided for by Government Code section 56434 , and no
protests were made either 'orally or in writing by any person or
taxpayerAt the conclusion of the hearing this Board ordered
the hearing closed and postponed a 'decision' on the proposed reorgan-
ization until it received from the Election Department an approp-
riate date upon which to hold an election in the district . The
matter of making a decision and of setting a date for an election
in the district should the decision of this Board he in favor of
the proposed reorganization was therefore continued by this Board
until 10 a.m.' on Tuesday, August 5, 1969 .'
This Board hereby finds that the proposed reorganization will
be in the best interests of the people In the area of said reorgan-
ization. This Board hereby orders the reorganization to dissolve
County Service Area F-»2 and concurrently form the Tassajara Fire
Protection District , subject to the confirmation of the voters .
The Beard also orders 'that the election on the question of the
aforesaid reorganization be held can November 4, 1969, within the
boundaries as described in attached Exhibit "A"' . Said election
shall be held and conducted and the votes canvassed'' i.n 'accordance
with the provisions of Government Cade Sections 56440 and 56`443.
