IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the 1969 ) United Bay Area Crusade. ) RESOLUTION NUMBER 691 508 WHEREAS the United Bay Area Crusade is about to begin its 1969 campaign for funds; and WHEREAS the crusade will , if successfully conducted, provide financing for a large number of community organizations having extremely desirable objectives; and WHEREAS these objectives include such commendable purposes as the pre- vention of illness, indigency, and delinquency, and aid to the sick and needy; and WHEREAS employees of Contra Costa County and other governmental entities within the county have been requested to participate actively in the 1969 campaign of the United Bay Area Crusade and contribute to the funds which the Crusade uses to support financially community organizations; and WHEREAS this Board of Supervisors heartily endorses the work of the United Bay Area Crusade; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that County Welfare Director R. E. Jorniin is designated as Chairman for the Crusade campaign among county employees; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that James E. Moriarty, Chairman, Board of Supervisors, is designated to serve as Honorary Chairman for the 1969 Crusade campaign among all public employees in Contra Costa County, pursuant to the request of the United Bay Area Crusade organization; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that J . P. McBrien, County Administrator, is authorized to serve as Chairman of the Crusade campaign among public employees in all Bay Area counties, as requested by the United Bay Area Crusade organization; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all county department heads, city officials, and district officials are urged to cooperate with Supervisor Moriarty, County Welfare Director Jornlin, and County Administrator McBrien by working actively in support of the United Bay Area Crusade; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following county employees are appointed to acquaint their fellow employees with the 1969 United Bay Area Crusade Program and the desirable services rendered by the agencies supported financially by the Crusade: Department Department Head Department Chairman Board of Supervisors J.
