WHEREAS this Board has been advised that Mr. Eugene R., Brusatori,
Economic Opportunity Program Development Director, has submitted to the
County Administrator his resignation and a request for transfer from said
position of Director to an appropriate assignment elsewhere in the county
service, said resignation and transfer to be made effective at a propi-
tious time in teras of the functioning of the County conomio Opportunity
Program; and
WHEREAS Mr. Brusatori has held the position of Economic Opportunity
Program Development Director since May 24, 1965, a period of more than
four years and a tenure probably longer than that of any other person in
a comparable position in the State of California and in the entire
United States; and
WHEREAS in said period Mr. Brusatori has guided the Community Action
Agency, comprised of the Board of Supervisors and the Economic Opportunity
Council, during the developmental stages of the Economic Opportunity Pro-
gram, its administration under changing federal regulations and financing,
and its reorganization pursuant to the Green Act amendments; and
WHEREAS Mr. Brusatori, in the face of diverse opinions and conflic-
ting community interests and challenging situations, persevered with
patience and sincerity and understanding to direct successfully the de-
velopment of the County Economic Opportunity Program with the objective
of meeting the needs of low income people, and
WHERE in said position of Director, Mr. Brusatori has necessarily
worked ling hours to accomplish program goals despite personal and family
sacrifices;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE CONY OF
CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it compliments Mr. Eugene R.
Brusatori on his fine work as Economic Opportunity Program. .Development
Director, expresses to him Its appreciation of his sustained and effee -
tive program efforts, and acknowledges the resignation and transfer
request which he has submitted to the County Administrator.
PASSED ,AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of July, 1969, by the following
vote of the Board z
