HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011969 - 69-321 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Opposing Senate RESOLUTION +'UMBER 69/321 Bill Number 524- } WHEREAS Senate Bill Number 524 is now receiving the attention of the California State Legislature; and WHEREAS Senate Bill Number 524 removes a provision from Education 'Code Section 21.116 which provision permits county auditors and county treasurers to charge districts for fiscal services in the case of districts which elect to become fiscally independent inclusive of drawing their cern warrant's, and WHEREAS the provision which is proposed for deletion by Senate Bill Number 524 was deliberately included when Education Section 21116 was enacted into law in 1967 because school districts electing an independent state wished to continue to use the services of the county treasury as their depositary and, were willing to pay for the extra work thereby imposed upon county agencies; and WHEREAS the passage of Senate Bill Number 524 would create a fiscal inequity and ignores understandings reached in 19673 Nast, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA. COSTA,, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that the passages of SenateBill Number 524 is strongly apposed and each of the Contra Costa. County representatives in the California State' Legislature is urged to work vigorously to see that said bill is not enacted: into law. PASSED and. ADOPTED on May 13, 1969 by the following vote of the Board: .AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES: None. ABSENT: Supervisor A. M. Dias.
