STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Supporting Continuance of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of RESOLUTION NO. 69/252 1965. WHEREAS the provisions and benefits of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 are scheduled to expire this year; and WHEREAS many areas of our Nation and countless people therein have benefitted from employment and increased economic activity made possible by this Act; and WHEREAS much remains to be done in many areas of our Nation to stimulate nein employment opportunities as well as pro- vide full time employment for the under-employed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra 'Costa County Board of Supervisors strongly urges Congressman Jerome R. Waldie, U. S. Senator George Murphy, and U. S. Senator Alan Cranston to support federal legislation to extend the provisions and life of the Public Works and Economic Development Actof 1965; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to Governor Ronald Reagan, State Senator John A. Nejedly, Assemblyman John T. Knox, Assemblyman James W. Dent, and the County Supervisors Association of California urging them to sup- port the continuance of the Public Yorks and Economic Development Act of 1965. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of April, 1969, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. P. Kenny, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. DOES: None. ABSENT. Nene.
