V E� ]',:,AiS the county has indicated. its Willingness to supply
certain requested services to local public jurisdictions at cost; and
WHEREAS the county ht�.s entered into contractual service
e3rra.n em-ents with several jurisdictions; and
Y- :E 'C AS the present Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement-
Police Protection Services with the City of Lafayette requires the
city to notify the county annually as to the desired level of law
enforcement for the forthcoming fiscal year, and this the city has
done; wnd
WEIZHEAZS' the county is then req_uired to fix, by resolution,
the unit cast and total annual cost of police services as requested
by the city for each fiscal yeax; and
rv.azi S the Office of the County Auditor-Controller has
computed annual unit casts for fiscal yea..r, 1969-1970 per police deputy
( 19, 276), patrol vehicle 011, 726), and investigation personnel
( 22, 782 )

vice requested by the City of Lafayette for fiscal year 1969-1970
(9 patrolmen, 2 patrol vehicles, and 1 investigation personnel ) the
total annual cost will be 4219, 718.
vO ti, THEREFORE, 3B IT, F'U_RT.111E:q RESOLVED that if, beginning
July 1, 1969, the county cannot render the complete level of service
requested, the city shall be billed on a prorated cost basis only for
the service actually rendered.
