COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commanding � Mr. Grant Burton for RESOLUTION NUMBER 69/179 Dedicated Public Service. ) } WHEREAS Mr. Grant Burton will be honored by his friends and associates at a testimonial dinner to be held on March 13, 19693 and 14HEREAS fir. Burton, a native Californian and a graduate of Stanford University, is widely known for his successful career as an agriculturist; and 19HEREAS Mr. Burton for many years, as a member and officer of numerous farm organizations, worked diligently and successfully to advance the agricultural interests of Contra Costa County and of the State of California; and WHEREAS Mr. Burton has been a stalwart and leading figure in programs to protect the natural resources of Contra Costa County and the San Francisco Bay Area and in this connection served for nearly two decades as a member of the San Francisco Bay Regional eater Quality Control Board, including seven years as its chairman; and WHEREAS the effective water duality control work of Mgr. Burton is reflected by his appointments and reappointments to aforesaid Board by four Governors of the State of California; and WHEREAS Mr. Burton is continuing his interest and efforts in the preservation of Bay Area natural, resources as a member of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission; and WHEREAS Mr. Burton has significantly assisted the Board of Supervisors as a member and officer of the Contra Costa County Development Association and through his support of the Contra Costa County ;;dater Agency in its programs to preserve the water supplies of the county; NOW$ THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA, COSTA., CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it extends to Mr. Grant Burton its very best wishes on the occasion of his testimonial dinner, expresses to him its deep appreciation for his effective work related to the preservation and appropriate use of the natural resources of his county and state, and sincerely hopes that he will continue as an ardent exponent of fine natural surroundings in which people may enjoy their work and the amenities of life. PASSED and ADOPTED on March 11, 1969 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, J. E. Moriarty. NOES: None. ABSENT; None.
