IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Expressing Regret Upon the Passing of Mr. Howard F. Lauritzen, RESOLUTION NUMBER 68/880 Former Contra Costa County Civil Service Commissioner. WHEREAS Mr. Howard F. Lauritzen served continuously on the Contra Costa County Civil Service Commission for 17 years begin- ning with its creation in 1945; and WHEREAS he was president of the Commission on five separate occasions during that period; and WHEREAS his tenure was noteworthy for his concern with the quality of county service and good working conditions for county employees; and WHEREAS his colleagues and associates in the county service were saddened at the news of his passing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it expresses its deep regret on the passing of Mr. Howard F. Lauritzen, that it extends to his surviving family its sincere sympathy, that it adjourns this official Board meeting on December 10, 1968 in his memory and in recognition of his exemplary service to his county., and directs that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to his wife Faye with the hope that her grief may be assuaged to some extent by the knowledge of the esteem in which he was held by the many people who knew and worked with him. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of December, 1968, by the following vote of the Board: AYES.* Supervisors J. P. Kenny, J. E. Moriarty, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, A. M. Dias. NOES: None.
