IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Resolution
in Support of Federal
Communications Commission RESOLUTION NO. 68/861
Docket 18261.
WHEREAS the County Sheriff has recommended that the County
Board of Supervisors endorse a resolution in support of Docket 18261
which is now before the Federal Communications Commission; and
WHEREAS Docket 18261 will provide a means to reallocate on
a geographical basis certain of the lowest seven U.H.F.-T.V. channels
(14 through 20) to the land mobile radio services for use within
urbanized areas throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS every effort should be made in the subsequent sub-
allocation of frequencies to assure that the needs of the public safety
agencies including police, fire, medical and other local government
services be considered on a first priority basis in order to protect
the public health, safety and welfare; and
WHEREAS the County Administrator has reviewed the current
and projected needs of the public safety radio services in Contra
Costa County and has recommended that the County Board of Supervisors
endorse a resolution in support of Docket 18261 to assure future
availability of communications channels;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that the County
of Contra Costa supports Federal Communications Commission Docket 18261;
and
BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk is
ordered to forward fourteen (14) copies of this resolution to the
Secretary of the Federal Communications Commission, Washington, D. C ,
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of December, 1968 by the
following vote of the Board:
AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, J. E. Moriarty,
T. J. Coll, E. A. Linschaid.
NOES: None .
ABSENT: Supervisor A . M. Dias.
