IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Expressing
Appreciation to Mr. A. J.'
"Buck" Johnson, Commissioner,
Contra Costa County Flood RESOLUTION NUMBER 68/766
Control and Water Conservation
District.
WHEREAS Mr. A. J. "Buck" Johnson has advised that he is retiring
from his position as a member of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and
Water Conservation District Commission; and
WHEREAS Mr. Johnson has served as a member of said Commission
during the last decade and in that capacity has rendered outstanding service
to the people of his county; and
WHEREAS during the tenure of Mr. Johnson and with his vigorous
support, the District has been able to lay out, design, finance and construct
major flood control works which have served to eliminate the hazards of
extensive property damage and disruption of the lives of countless numbers
of citizens; and
WHEREAS the services and sage advice of Commissioner Johnson have
been particularly valuable in establishing fair and equitable District
policies on land acquisition for flood control projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it extends to Mr. A. J. "Buck"
Johnson its sincere thanks for his decade of exemplary service, expresses
to him Its deep appreciation for the personal time and effort which he has
devoted to the affairs of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water
Conservation District, and wishes for him a long and enjoyable life after his
retirement from public office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of October, 1968, by the following
vote of the Board:
,AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, James E . Moriarty,
Thomas John Coll , Edmund A. Linscheid, Alfred M. Dias.
