IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS or CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming National Retarded Children's RESOLUTION NO. 68/759 Month. WHEREAS mental retardation is a problem which affects almost six million individuals in America today; and WHEREAS 16,000 mentally retarded children and adults live in Contra Costa Countyl and WHEREAS the most effective weapons for prevention and alleviation of this serious affliction are public knowledge and understanding; and WHEREAS during the month of November, California Council for Retarded Children and Contra Costa County Association for the Mentally Retarded, a unit of the National Association for Retarded Children, are carrying on an educational campaign; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it does hereby proclaim the period from November 1 to November 30, 1968 as NATIONAL RETARDED CHILDREN'S MONTH in Contra Costa County, and urges that the citizens of all cities and towns in this county give full support to this effort to overcome mental retardation. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of October, 1968 by the following vote of the Boards AYESs , Supervisors J. E. Moriarty, E. A. Linscheid, A. M. Dias. NOES$ None. ABSENTS Supervisors J. P. Kenny, T.
