HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011968 - 68-741 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA 00M4TY, STATE €3F CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) October 27, 1968 as NAVY DAY. ) RESOLUTION NO. 68/741 WHEREAS it is of vital interest to all citizens of the United States of America that we possess a sound national defense; and WHEREAS it is well known that our strong Navy and Marine Carpe are making great contributions to the security of our Nation and, free men everywhere; and WHEREAS the mobile forces of the Navy manned by highly trained and dedicated personnel, provide a deterrent force virtually free from surprise attack; and WHEREAS since 1922, October 27th has been celebrated nationally and locally as NAVY DAY -- a day on which it is only Pitting and proper that the citizens of this great Ration give well deserved honor and recognition to achievements of our mighty Navy and particularly to its heroic men and w0mon -- living and dead -- all over the world, for their patriotism, loyalty, efficiency, and devotion to duty; NOWs THEREFORE, I, ABED DIAS, Chairman, Board of Supervisors of Centra Costa County, do hereby proclaim, Sunday, October 27, 1968 as NAVY DAY and call upon all citi- zens of Centra Costa County to take part in appropriate observance of this day through the many channels open to them. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of October, 1968 by the following vote of the Boards AYES: Supervisors Fames P. Ronny, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linstheid, Alfred M. Dias .
