RESOLUTION DUMBER 68/717 WHEREAS the first Bay Area Television Festival will be presented at St. Mary's College Little Theater on October 25. and 26, 1968 under the cry-sponsorship of St. Mary's College and Contra Costa County community organizations; and WiEREAS an understanding of the role and the impact of the television media and its relation to our constantly changing society is a matter of vital public interest; and WHEREAS television programming is a crucial issue and said festival will provide the coffmni ty with an opportunity to become acquainted with presentations of Bay Area television stations and provide recognition of their efforts in the direction of developing outstanding programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA' COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it hereby proclaims October 25 and 26, 1968 as "Television Festival Days" and urges all county residents to support this community "first" Television Festival ; and BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that it extends to St. Mary's College, participating community organizations and individuals, and Bay Area television stations its compliments and appreciation for their efforts in acquainting the public through said festival with the vital role of the television media and the need for cooperative efforts in television programming. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of October, 1968, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, James E. Moriarty,. .Thomas. John Call, Edmund A. Linscheld, Alfred M. Dias.
