Mrs. Elinor AlJets.
)
WHEREAS Mrs. Elinor Aljets has announced her retirement
from, the position of Treasurer-Manager, Contra Costs. County �,Inployees
Federal Credit Union, effective November 1, 1968; and
WHEREAS Mrs. AlJets, a native Californian, entered public
employment in 1931 and served meritoriously for a period of four
years with the Martinez school system and then with distinction for
twenty years with the Office of the Contra Costa County Sheriff; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Abets, as a county employee, became associ-
ated with the Centra Costa County Employees Federal Credit Union
when it was chartered in 1949 and served as its first volunteer
Treasurer; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Abets left county employment in 1955 to
devote full time to credit union affairs and still serves as its
Treasurer-Manager; and
WHEREAS during the last twenty years Mrs. Abets has seen
the credit union grow from a tiny business to a strong financial
institution with its own headquarters building and with assets in
excess of five million dollars, and
WHEREAS Mrs. Abets as credit union Treasurer-Manager
has carefully protected the savings of thousands of employees and
has rendered exemplary services to some 33, 4001 borrowers who have
made loans totaling more than thirty-six million dollars; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Abets throughout her years of devoted
public service found time to participate actively in community
organizations and affairs and serve her follow citizens, both
youths and adults, in countless programs for their benefit ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF CONTRA. COSTA RESOLVED that it extends to firs. Elinor
Abets its deep appreciation for her noteworthy public service,
its compliments on her outstanding work as a county employee and
as Treasurer-Manager of the Contra Costa County Employees Federal
Credit Union, and its thanks for her fine community efforts; and.
BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that it wishes for
her a long and happy life in retirement in which she may continue
to enjoy the affection and esteem of the total county community
which she has served so effectively and. generously.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of October, 1968 by the
following vote of the Board .
AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, James E. Moriarty,
Thomas Jahn Call, Edmund A. Linscheid,
Alfred M. Dias.
