IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY* STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming Sunday# September 29*, 1968 mwownm NUMBER 68/663 as GOLD STAR MOTBM* DAY. HEREAS the Amerlean Gold Star Mothers, Ine'�,* organized January 5,# 1929# Is an organization of mothers whose sons and daughters served and died In the line of duty In the armed forces in World War I# World War II, the Korean conflict and the war In Vietnamor died as a result of injuries received In such service; and WHKHEAS the objectives of the organization are to keep alive and develop the spirit that promoted world service,' to assist In patriotic work, and visit the sick and bereaved; and WHEREAS this organization Is formed to perpetuate the memory of those whose lives were sacrificed for our country that we might remain free; and HAS it to the desire of the Gold Star Mothers to inspire love of country and respect for our flag, and to promote good will and peace among nations; NOV# THEREFORE# BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County* California does hereby proclaim September 29, 1968 as GOLD STAR MOTHM4 DAY and urges all citizens to display our flag in menory of those who have made the supreme sacrifice for our country and In honor of the Gold Star Mothers who have banded together so courageously* facing their personal losses and continuing to serve our country In so 11AMY ways* PASSED and ADOPTED this 24th day of September,, 1968 by the following vote; AXES: Supervisors Jo PKenny, To Jo Coll,, 9* A*: Linvehelds A*: M„r Dias* NOES: None*, ABSENT: Supervisor J*: E, Moriarty.
