HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011968 - 68-567 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Of CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the $attar of the 1968 � United bay Area Crusade. } RESOLUTION NUMBER 68/567 WEREAS the United bay Area Crusade is about to begin its 1968 campaign for funds; and 1MRERS the crusade will , if successfully conducted, provide financing for a large number of community organizations having extremely desirable objectives; and 1REREAS these objectives include such comendable purposes as the pre- vention of fitness, indi'gency, and delinquency, and aid to the sick and needy; and WEREAS employees of Contra Costa County and other governmental entities within the county have been requested to participate actively in the 1968 campaign of the United Say Area Crusade and contribute to the funds which the crusade uses to f'inanci'ally support camunjty organizations: and I-KREAS this Board of Supervisors heartily endorses the work of the United Bay Area Crusade; NOW, 11HEREFQRE, bE IT €Y THIS BOARD RESOLVED that County Public Works Director V. L. Sauer is designated as Chairman for the Crusade campaign among county layees; and BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that Alfred M. Hies, Chairman, Board of Supervisors, Is designated to serge as Honorary Chairman for the 1968 Crusade campaign among all public employees in Contra Costa County, pursuant to the request of the United Say Area Crusade organization; and bE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that J. P. "torten, County Administrator, is authorized to serve as Chairman of the crusade campaign among public employees in Contra Costa County, as requested by the United Bay Area Crusade organization and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all county, department heads, city officials, and district officials are urgers to cooperate with Supervisor Dias, County Public Works Director Sauer, and County Administrator McBrien'by working actively in support of the United Day area Crusade; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following county employees are appointed to acquaint their fellow employees with the 1968 United Bay Area Crusade Program and the desirable services rendered by the agencies financially supported by the Crusade #fie arta Department Read Department.
