Kennedy. } } WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, like people everywhere, is shocked by the senseless assassination of United States Senator Robert F. Kennedy; and WHEREAS Senator Kennedy, during his lifetime of effort to advance the interests and causes of all people, served with distinction as Attorney General of the United States of America and United States Senator from the State of New York; and WHEREAS before his untimely death Senator Kennedy was one of the foremost candidates for the Democratic Party nomination for the most important office in the world, that of President of the United States; and WHEREAS .Senator Kennedy served the public interest in the great tradition of the Kennedy family and just as surely as two of his brothers gave up his life for his fellowmen and his country; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .BY .THIS BOARD OF' . SUPERVISORS RESOLVED that it expresses Its deep regret on the passing of United States Senator Robert F. Kennedy, extends to his wife and other members of his family its . sincere sympathy, and hopes that his record of accomplishments and .the Image of what he did and tried to do for people will mitigate to some extent their great sorrow. PASSED AND ADOPTED this lith day of June, 1968, by the following vote of the Board: .AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Coll , Edmund A. Linscheid. NOES: None.
