RESOLUTION INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR CHANGE
IN ORGANIZATION TO DETACH CERTAIN TERRITORY
WITHIN THE CITY OF ANTIOCH FROM THE ISLAND
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
A mandatory resolution of application for change in organi-
zation by detachment of certain territory within the City of Antioch
from the Island Fire Protection District was filed by the City of
Antioch with' the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation
Commission on April 8, 1968 . The reasons for the proposed detach-
ment are :
(1) the only area in the City of Antioch still remaining
in the Island Fire District is a small parcel of approximately two
acres ; and
(2) the City desires that the entire City be in the same
District Areas .
On May 1 , 1968, the Local Agency Formation Commission
approved the resolution of application, without condition, declared
the territory proposed to be detached as uninhabited and assigned
the proposal designation as "City of Antioch Detachment from the
Island Fire Protection District . " The territory proposed to be
detached is described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by reference
incorporated herein.
At 10 :15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 1968, in the Chambers
of the Board of Supervisors , Administration Building, Martinez,
California, this Board will conduct a public hearing on the proposed
detachment . At the hearing the testimony of all interested persons
or taxpayers for or against the proposed detachment will be heard,
and any interested person desiring to make written protest thereto
must do so by written communication filed with the Clerk before the
hearing. A written protest by an owner of land must contain a
description sufficient to identify his land, and a written protest
by a voter must contain his residential address .
At the conclusion of the hearing the Board of Supervisors
shall eitherdisapprove the proposed detachment or Girder the detach-
ment in accordance with Government Code Sections 56320 through 56322 .

The Clerk of this Board is HEREBY DIRECTED to publish
the text of this resolution once a week for two successive weeks
in the "Antioch Ledger," a newspaper of general circulation
published in this County and circulated in the territory wherein
the proposed detachment is situated, the first publication to be
made not later than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date.
The Clerk of this Board is also directed to post the text of this
resolution on the bulletin board of this Board at least fifteen
(15) days prior to the hearing date and such posting will continue
to the time of the hearing.
The Clerk of this Board is FURTHER DIRECTED to give
notice by Mailing notice of hearing at least fifteen (15) days
prior to the hearing date to all persons and counties , cities
or districts , which shall have theretofore filed a written request
for special notice with the Clerk of this Board .
