IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Authorizing } May 7. 1968 , 1963 Extension of Agreement for } Mental Health Services with } Roneh Preschool for Disturbed } RESOLUTION NUMBER _68 3Q } } IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED : The County of Contra Costa desires to provide mental health services to residents of the County in conjunction with the State of California under Sections 9000 et seq. of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (Short-Doyle Act) , The County of Contra Costa and the above-named corporation, a California non-profit corporation, have entered into an Agreement for Mental Health Services and the Director of Mental Health Services has recommended the extension of said Agreement to and until June 30, 1969; subject to the incorporation therein of the terms and conditions contained in "Exhibit A"' attached hereto in substitution of the "Exhibit A" contained in said Agreement as entered into or as heretofore extended; provided : Notwithstanding any other provision of said Agreement , the total obligation of the County of Contra Costa thereunder shall not exceed the sum of $ 63s100 for the period of said extension, and payment shall be made at the rate of $ ,� per child per dad of attendance . NOW, THEREFORE, the County of Contra Costa agrees to extend said Agreement through June 30, 1969 , subject to the provisions contained herein and to incorporation therein of "Exhibit A" attached hereto. General Principles: The' purpose of 'Ronoh is to 'treat -omotiorially dis- turbed children to assist thea iri achieving levels of functionin; .which -are effective in normal -social s€rttings. ..A corollary goal is to assist families of such children to -modify distorted or inctfsct- ive patterns of relating to their children. II. Program Emphasis: The ermhasis of the.program is on rehabilitation of disturbed children and improve writ of the dynamics of family relationships. Treatment is provided for the children through daily r sessions of milieu therapy. Counselling relationships with- parents are pro- vided through woekly group meetings, individual interviews and home visits. Family therapists provide individual treatment for selected parents who are riot already in therapy vrith outside agencies. As an indirect service to the cormu.nity, sono education and inforr:ation is provided throe h occasional lectures to cos-,=ity organizations and referral information to individual inquiries. III., Provision And Administration of Servicos: The treatment of each child through the daily sessions Is coordinated through interpretation with the counselling and therapy given his parents. Thus by helping the family to develop mer© normal relations with -their disturbed child, treatment provided the child it Ronoh can be reinforced and assiridlatod at home. Pu Doses and fictions: Ronoh's Day Treatment Center provides gaily sessions of milieu therapy for emotionally dis-. ' turbed children for they p-urrpbse, of helpin thea achie e normal behavior patterns. The experiences available to each child tnclude. tho opportunity for relationships with therapists on a once.-to®one basis, supervised play with other children; special group work in prepaaration for participation in . normal childhood gaups, and excursions to playgrounds and other points of interest. Counselling is provided parents throuSh weekly group meetings, ndiv- idual intorviews and home visits. Family therapists provide individual ab conjoint treatment for selected families. r Program modifications include an increase in mean patient load from . . 15.0 to 17.3 children per day; an increase in pro;ran time from 15 to .17.5 hours per week for each session, an increase in paid staff meeting time from 1.5 to 2.5 hours per week.- the addition of a dance therapist, a program assistant, and a typist; and the provision of sons family therapy by a psychiatric social worker. , . Total Grass Costs 57.909 63.755 68/304 r r MODIFICATION OF LIMITS OF REQUIRED LIABILITY INSURANCE The provisions of paragraph 6 of the within Agreement are hereby modified to provide that the limits of liability insurance carried by the Corporation, naming the County as co--insured, shall be not less than Two Hundred Fifty "Thousand Dollars ($250,000) for each person, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) for each accident, for all damages arising out of bodily injury, sickness, or disease, including death, From any one accident, and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) for all damages arising out of injury to or destruction of property for each accident.
