Magill. ) RESOLUTION NUMBER 68/285 Captain, California Highway Patrol. ) WHEREAS Russell R. Magill has rendered faithful service to the people of Contra Costa County and the State of California as a member of the California Highway Patrol from July 26, 1937 until the present time; and WHEREAS Russell R. Magill advanced from State Traffic Officer to Deputy Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol. in which latter capacity he served for approximately sic years; and WHEREAS residents of Contra Costa County have been fortu- nate in having Russell A. Magill as Captain in charge of the area office of the California Highway Patrol for two separate tours of duty; and WHEREAS Bussell E. Magill, as Captain of the area office of the California Highway Patrol, has consistently supported the efforts of the Office of the County Sheriff and city police depart- ments of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS emergency situations such as floods, fires, and civil disorders have arisen daring his periods of service in Centra Costa County for which the resources of the California Highway Patrol were made available promptly at his direction; and WHEREAS Captain Magill has demonstrated an interest in community affairs such as by assisting in the development of a Police Science curriculum at John F. Kennedy University and is well known for his cooperative efforts in law enforcement matters; NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Super- visors does hereby acknowledge and express its sincere appreciation to Bussell R. Magill, Captain, California Highway Patrol, for his outstanding services to the residents of Contra Costa County. PASSEL AND ADOPTED this 30th day of April, 1968 by the following vote of the Board: A'Y'ES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Alfred M. Dias.
